Vehicle, Dead Body Found In Retention Pond: Rochester Police

The vehicle "looked like it had been there awhile and became visible because of the dry conditions and low water level," police said.

ROCHESTER, MN — A vehicle with a dead body inside was found Wednesday afternoon in a retention pond in Rochester, according to police.

Law enforcement responded to the pond in the 4000 block of 19th Street Northwest, where they encountered the vehicle, which police said, “looked like it had been there awhile and became visible because of the dry conditions and low water level.”

Police are working with the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the deceased female and determine the cause of death, according to authorities.
