1 Charged After Banks In Apple Valley, Burnsville Robbed: Police

A 36-year-old man from Saint Paul faces two felony counts of second-degree aggravated robbery.

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — Police say a man has been arrested after one bank in Apple Valley and another in Burnsville were robbed within a week of each other. Andrew McCoy, 36, of Saint Paul was charged with two felony counts of second-degree aggravated robbery.

Officers were dispatched April 1 to a bank robbery in Burnsville. The suspect had already fled when police arrived.

Through witness statements and surveillance video, police connected McCoy to the April 1 robbery at a bank in Burnsville and a March 25 robbery at an Apple Valley bank.

McCoy faces up to 15 years in prison and/or a $30,000 fine for each robbery charge.
