• District 196 organizes parenting session (hometownsource.com) — Apple Valley parents can attend a free District 196 "Parenting Conference: Fostering Resilience" on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Eastview High School. The morning features remarks from Superintendent Michael Bolsoni, a keynote by child psychologist Dr. Kathryn Hecht, and breakout sessions on screen time, stress, and everyday parenting strategies, with walk-ins welcome but early registration encouraged.
   

• District 196 students recognized by National Merit Program (hometownsource.com) — Apple Valley families have two seniors, Caraline Copus and Samantha Sauer, honored as National Merit Commended Students, part of 36 high-achieving District 196 seniors recognized this year. The group includes 15 semifinalists and 21 commended students from Apple Valley, Eagan, Eastview, and Rosemount high schools, all scoring among the top 5% nationwide on the PSAT.
