Elizabeth A. "Bette" VanderBie, 79, of Apple Valley, passed away Aug. 18, 2012, due to respiratory failure (COPD). Preceded in death by her father, Arthur; mother, Gladys; and brother, Charles Helps. Survived by loving husband of 61 years, William (Bill) VanderBie; sister, Mary Helen (Bill) Macgregor; children, Mark, Matthew (Karla), Michael VanderBie, and MaryJane (Monte) Leal Depolo; grandchildren, Jeff (Beth), Josh (Melissa), Jamie (Becki), and Jacqie Leal, Katherine and Sarah VanderBie, Ryan and Lindzi VanderBie; along with six great-grandchildren. She was an amazing woman and will never be forgotten. A memorial service will be at Apple Valley Legion Hall from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23.
