Patricia Catherine Threinen, 61

Patricia Catherine Threinen, 61, passed away peacefully in her home in Rosemount the morning of Aug. 25, 2012. She was born to the late Ed and Honey Threinen Oct. 23, 1950, in Grand Rapids, MN. She is survived by her son, Edward (Virginia) Stockwell; sister, Nancy (Dane) Tittman; brothers, Tom (Carol), Bill (Chris), Dan (Lisa Cassioppi), Tony (Sandy), Kevin, and her parrot, Gerti. Patt was a chemist by trade, a business woman by passion, and a philanthropist at heart. She gave her time to judging science fairs, editing scientific manuscripts, and most recently was appointed as a stakeholder to review grant proposals by the American Cancer Society. This was a big deal for her as she had battled cancer for 15 years, far surpassing any normal odds. She loved to travel, read, was a master seamstress, needlepoint artist, and cherished spending time with her family and friends. A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 11:30 a.m. at Cedarwood Church, 12139 Biscayne Ave., Rosemount. In lieu of any gifts, donations may be made in her name to the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance.
