Richard L. Nelson, 71, of Apple Valley, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2012. He was born March 2, 1941 in Minneapolis to Harold and Donna (nee Howrey) Nelson. Richard is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rita; sons, Steve and Mark (Nina); grandchildren, Hannah, Olivia, Ava, and Sofie. He was preceded in death by his infant grandson, Samuel. He will be loved and treasured forever. Visitation is scheduled for 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights.
