Vision loss doesn’t deter Burnsville artist Annie Young

Nearly a decade ago, Burnsville resident and avid artist Annie Young lost her vision due a medical condition. Today’s, she’s creating multidimensional art — sculpture, fiber arts and topographic paintings. She’s regularly blogs about her art and what inspires it.

“It is my never-ending hope that you see what I feel,” she writes on her blog that features images of her tactile artwork. Young works primarily with acrylics, using her fingers as well as paintbrushes to create the pictures that visit her imagination. Her work has been displayed at galleries in Minnesota and on her work has been selected to tour thru with other artists of special abilities thru out the country.

Young is the featured artist at the Eastview Community Foundation’s fourth annual Art Madness event. The highlight of this fundraiser is a silent art auction showcasing the work of more than xx artists, ranging from professional artists to Apple Valley school children.
