Apple Valley High School Senior to Conduct Original Musical Composition

Jordan Jenkins composed "Anthem" last fall, and Apple Valley High School band members will perform it at their Wednesday concert.

The band will be under different leadership for part of its Wednesday concert this week, according to an article from the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Senior student Jordan Jenkins will conduct the band as members play one of his original compositions, called "Anthem," which the article says he wrote last fall with guidance from a St. Olaf College professor.

Jenkins, who the article says has been playing music since he was 3, has done other arrangements for his jazz group and is a member of rock bands outside of school. He'll go onto study political science and bass performance at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the fall.
