Apple Valley’s Precinct 1: Where Trump and Clinton Tied
No precinct throughout the entire country is more closely divided than Apple Valley Precinct 1, where the two major candidates tied.

No precinct throughout the entire country is more closely divided than Apple Valley Precinct 1. During the November election, 712 people casted their ballots for Hillary Clinton, and 712 different people in the same precinct voted for Donald Trump.
Yes, you read that right. The two candidates tied. The precinct, located on the outskirts of Apple Valley's downtown, in many ways represents the sharp political divisions of the state, as well as the nation.
“The country is very split straight down the middle,” Dennis LaMott, 70, who lives in the precinct, told the Pioneer Press. LaMott said he voted for Trump but calls himself independent and remembers voting for former Bill Clinton. “It really saddens me that there continues to be this divide," LaMott added.
