Apple Valley Voters Encouraged To Drop Absentee Ballots At Municipal Center, Not In Mail

Court of Appeals decision rules that ballots received after Election Day might not be counted. To ensure your absentee ballot is received by Election Day, voters encouraged to drop their absentee ballots in one of the two drop boxes at Municipal Center.

A recent U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision has ruled that ballots received after Election Day (November 3, 2020) might not be counted. In order to ensure your absentee ballot is received by Election Day, the City encourages voters to drop their absentee ballots in one of the two drop boxes located at the Municipal Center. Due to delays in delivery of mail through the U.S. Postal Service, ballots that are placed in the mail between now and Election Day may not arrive in time.

There is a secure drive-up ballot box located in the parking lot of the Municipal Center, as well as a ballot box inside the Municipal Center lobby. Municipal Center hours are: Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., and Monday from 8 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. or Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

You can still vote early, in person, at City Hall until Monday at 5:00 p.m. or at your polling place on Election Day (7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
