The Simley High School Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves through academic, artistic, athletic, and humanitarian achievement. The Hall of Fame also helps preserve Simley’s history, build a sense of community, and instill pride among students, staff, alumni, and the Inver Grove Heights community.
The Simley Hall of Fame Class of 2026 includes Jim Reed (class of 1978), Jena Hostetler-Radant (1993), Danielle DuBois-Woog (1995), Brian Silk (1997), Abby Kain (2016) and Ron Haala (staff). Read on to learn more about each inductee and the accomplishments that earned them a place in the Simley Hall of Fame.The six new inductees will be recognized during an induction ceremony held at halftime of the Simley High School football game on Thursday, Sept. 3, when the Spartans host Minneapolis North at Spartan Stadium in Inver Grove Heights. We have 39 kids (age 5-16) currently waiting for a mentor. Our largest demand is for male mentors as more than half of our waitlist are boys. Kids 'n Kinship Youth Mentoring: Virtual Information Session

Dakota County Gun Club

Join us for an exciting day of shooting at the Dakota County Gun Club on the second Saturday of September, from noon to 5 pm! This event is open to women 16+.

We’ll have a variety of shooting options, including rifles, handguns, shotguns, muzzleloading rifles, cowboy-action shooting, and concealed carry guns. All the necessary equipment, such as guns, ammunition, targets, eye and ear protection, are provided. Personal firearms are prohibited.

We currently have 39 kids in Dakota County (ages 5-16) waiting for a mentor. We have several youth who have waited as long as 5 years for the right mentor. Our largest demand is for male mentors (or couples/families willing to mentor a boy) as more than half of our waitlist are boys. Individuals, couples, and families can become mentors. We ask that you commit at least 4 hours/month for at least one year as a mentor. We will train and support you every step of the way along the process to becoming matched with a youth in our community.
Mentoring is a critical component in young people’s lives, helping them make the decisions and connections that help them learn and grow. Kids ‘n Kinship mentors consistently provide feedback that, while they started mentoring in order to change a young person’s life, it often ends up changing theirs as well. Mentoring isn’t just about offering guidance, it’s about making a real, lasting difference. Imagine being a part of someone’s growth and helping them discover what’s possible - just by spending a few hours a month with them.

i9 Sports South Metro Minneapolis is a locally owned youth sports organization serving families throughout Bloomington, Burnsville, Apple Valley, Savage, Prior Lake, Shakopee, Lakeville, Jordan, St. Paul, New Prague, and surrounding cities. The organization provides recreational league play for boys and girls ages 3–14, focusing on building confidence, character, and teamwork within the local community. They offer a variety of youth programs including soccer, flag football, basketball, baseball, and tennis. Designed to accommodate busy schedules, the organization features a convenient one-day-a-week format where practices and games occur on the same day. Their seasonal programs run for 5–7 weeks throughout the year, ensuring consistent opportunities for skill development across multiple sports.
