Chlorine Leak Contained In Rosemount Thursday
No injuries were reported in a chlorine leak in Rosemount last week.

ROSEMOUNT, MN — No injuries were reported in a chlorine leak in Rosemount last week. On Thursday July 20 at 3:20 p.m. a Rosemount city employee discovered a mechanical failure at well No. 7 that had caused a chlorine leak. The failure resulted in chlorine leaking into the air.
The Rosemount police and fire departments responded to the scene. After the scene was assessed, the Dakota County Special Operations Team was requested to respond to the incident. As a precaution eastbound and west bound County Road 42 was closed from Shannon Parkway to Highway 3.
These agencies worked cooperatively to successfully bring the incident under control and to a successful resolution. At about 7:05 p.m. the leak had been contained and County Road 42 was opened for normal traffic.

The Apple Valley Police Department, Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and the Dakota County Special Operations Team assisted the Rosemount Police Department and the Rosemount Fire Department with the incident.
