Rosemount Cross Country Hosts Irish Invitational

Rosemount boys take first, girls finish in third

The Rosemount boys and girls cross country team hosted the Irish Invitational on Friday in Rosemount, and both squad finished the day with strong performances.

The Irish boys squad won the event with 45 team points, just ahead of White Bear Lake’s 74 points and Mounds View’s 100 points. For the girls, Rosemount finished third overall with 107 points, just behind Prior Lake at 60 and Stillwater at 107.

Senior Nathan Rock led the way. Rock finished second overall with a 10:05.6 finish, and senior teammate Calvin Lehn finished right behind with a third place finish at 10:10.3.

Junior Trevor Capra finished seventh at 10:20.0, Chandler Dye finished 10th at 10:26.3 and senior Nick Couillard finished 23rd at 10:42.8.

Senior Timothy Sampers finished 39th at 11:00.5, and freshman Sam Ivanecky took 49th at 11:09.8.

Mounds View’s Zach Roozen won the race individually with a 10:02.9 time.

On the girls side, sophomore Hannah Grim took 8th at 12:24.5 to lead all Irish performers. Junior TAylor Rambo took 17th at 12:38.4, senior Thana Hussein took 26th at 12:50.8 and senior Laura Dennis took 29th at 12:53.4.

Freshman Liz Evenocheck took 36th at 13:00.0 and senior Emily Davis took 41st at 13:11.2.
