Deadline For Distance Learning In Apple Valley Is Friday

Under Gov. Tim Walz's order, all public school districts must also offer a distance-learning option.

APPLE VALLEY, MN — Parents whose children go to schools in District 196 have one more day to register for the distance learning option. The deadline for the "196 Digital Academy" — the full-time distance learning option for families who do not want their children in school — is Friday, Aug. 14.

The district's deadline is to ensure the online option is fully staffed.

Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan schools are using the hybrid model this fall. However, under Gov. Tim Walz's order, all public school districts must also offer a distance-learning option.
