District 196 School Board Election 2017
District 196 residents will vote Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, to elect three of the seven at-large positions on the school board.

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — The 2017 election is nearly here, and the terms of three District 196 board members are expiring at the end of this year. All three incumbents, as well as five challengers, have filed candidacy for the Nov. 7, 2017 election. The new terms for all three at-large positions run from January 2018 to January 2022.
District 196 is located in the south Twin Cities metro. As the fourth largest school district in Minnesota, it serves approximately 28,000 students and more than 150,000 total residents. The district’s 110 square miles encompass all or part of the cities of Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eagan, Burnsville, Coates, Inver Grove Heights and Lakeville, and Empire and Vermillion townships.

- Precinct 1 – Berean Baptist Church, 309 County Road 42 E., Burnsville; includes all of Burnsville in District 196, including Burnsville precincts eight, nine, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17.
Lakeville/Empire Township
- Precinct 2 – Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 16200 Dodd Lane, Lakeville; includes Lakeville precincts 12, 14, 15 and 16, Empire Township and Farmington precinct five.
Apple Valley
- Precinct Three – Apple Valley Senior Center, 14601 Hayes Road, Apple Valley; includes Apple Valley precincts one, two, three, and four.
- Precinct Four – Mount Olivet Assembly of God Church, 14201 Cedar Avenue, Apple Valley; includes Apple Valley precincts Five A, Five B and eight.
- Precinct Five – Apple Valley Municipal Center, 7100 147th Street W., Apple Valley; includes Apple Valley precincts 6, 12, 14 and 15.
- Precinct Six – District 196 Service Center, 14445 Diamond Path, Rosemount; includes Apple Valley precincts nine, 11 and 13.
- Precinct Seven – Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, Apple Valley; includes Apple Valley precincts seven and 10.
