Football Friday: Local Teams Seek to Keep Pace in Conference Standings

Apple Valley and Rosemount play on the road in South Suburban Conference action, while Eastview will play host to SSC opponent Bloomington Jefferson.

Apple Valley, Eastview and Rosemount will be out to keep pace with undefeated Lakeville North in the South Suburban Conference standings in their high school football games tonight.

Apple Valley is tied with Burnsville and Prior Lake for second place in the conference, a game behind Lakeville North. Eastview is 1-1/2 games back, while Rosemount is 2-1/2 games behind.

All three Apple Valley-Rosemount teams will play conference opponents tonight, with Eastview the only local team playing a home game.

TEAM RECORDS—Apple Valley: 3-1 overall, 3-1 SSC; Bloomington Kennedy: 0-4 overall, 0-3 SSC
LAST WEEK—Apple Valley defeated Lakeville South, 28-27 (OT); Bloomington Kennedy lost to Burnsville, 24-0
GAME NOTES—Apple Valley edged Lakeville South, 28-27, on Sept. 14. Dom McDew-Stauffer rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns, including a two-yard scoring run in the first session of overtime. Tommy Singer threw for 124 yards and Dustin Fronk had 54 receiving yards.... Bloomington Kennedy had a rough time with Burnsville on Sept. 14, allowing nearly 300 yards of offense while giving up an interception and two blocked kicks.

TEAM RECORDS—Bloomington Jefferson: 0-4 overall, 0-3 SSC; Eastview: 2-2 overall, 2-1 SSC
LAST WEEK—Bloomington Jefferson lost to Lakeville North, 56-7; Eastview defeated Eagan, 15-12
GAME NOTES—Bloomington Jefferson fell behind, 42-0, at halftime en route to its loss to Lakeville North on Sept. 14. Jefferson had four turnovers, including three interceptions.... On Sept. 14, Eastview took a 12-0 lead into halftime on a pair of touchdown runs by Will Rains. After Eagan came back and tied the score, Sam Fluegge hit a game-winning 23-yard field goal on second-to-last play of the game.

PLACE—Eagan High School
TIME—7 p.m.
TEAM RECORDS—Rosemount: 1-3 overall, 1-2 SSC; Eagan: 0-4 overall, 0-3 SSC
LAST WEEK—Rosemount lost to Prior Lake, 17-7; Eagan lost to Eastview, 15-12
GAME NOTES—In its loss to Prior Lake on Rosemount was led by Ali Al-Khatib, with 47 yards rushing and his team’s only touchdown. Sean Kalinowski threw for 157 yards and Dimitri Williams caught four passes for 52 yards.... Eagan fell behind Easview early on Sept. 14, but tied the score at 12-12 in the fourth quarter on a touchdown run by TJ Sands and scoring pass by Ian Entzion.
