Get Out! Your Weekend in Apple Valley

1. THE SPACE MONKEYS (band)

When/Where: Friday, 9:30 until about 11:30 p.m., Bogart's Place, Apple Valley

Why Go: You want to move it to some dance and rock music, and sitting still just won't cut it for you!

2. ELIZABETH GILBERT: "EAT, PRAY, LOVE" AUTHOR EVENT

When/Where: Friday, 7 to 8:30.p.m., Burnsville Performing Arts Center

Why Go: Meet an inspiring author of a great book that was made into a movie.

Pricing: Free

3. THE CLASSICS PERFORMANCE

When/Where: Saturday, 7:30 p.m., Lakeville Arts Center

Why Go: Listen to the classic sounds of Sinatra-era music performed with sophistication and humor in an energetic Las Vegas-style show. Chocolate dessert and champagne will be available for purchase.

Pricing: $15

4. HOCKEY: TWO APPLE VALLEY VARSITY TEAMS

Where/When:  Game 1 will be EASTVIEW boys at the Apple Valley Ice Arena at 2:15 p.m. Game 2 will be APPLE VALLY HIGH SCHOOL  boys at Burnsville at the Burnsville Ice Center at 3 p.m. 

Why Go: Because you like to support the home tea and your friends have often told you they hear you chanting "Let's play HOOOOOOCKEY!"

Pricing: $7 per adult per game, $5 per student.

5. CATCH A FLICK AT CARMIKE 15

Where/When: The following movies will be playing throughout the weekend: "The Roommate," "Sanctum 3D," "The Mechanic," "The Rite," "No Strings Attached," "The Dilemma," "Greenhornet 2D," "True Grit," "Little Fockers," "Tron: Legacy 3D," "Yogi Bear 3D," "The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage," "Black Swan," "The King's Speech" and "Tangled 2D."

Why Go: Because you desperately want to be in a movie, but right now, you're learning the ropes by watching them. Or, it's just too cold outside to do anything else!

Pricing: Prices start at $6 and run to $9.25. You should also be aware that there's an additional $3 charged for movies which are 3D events.

6. MAKE A VALENTINE

Where/When: Friday, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Dakota County Galaxie Library. (Ages 2-11)

Why Go: Your child wants to make a special valentine.

Pricing: Free. All materials are provided.
