Local choir to honor the late Dennis Swanson through music
The Minnesota Valley Women's Chorale will debut "Walking Into Art", written in loving memory of Dennis Swanson, at their spring concerts.

Join the Minnesota Valley Women’s and Men’s Chorales for a very special spring concert on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 7:30 pm at Grace Lutheran Church in Apple Valley.
The Minnesota Valley Women’s Chorale will debut their first commissioned work “Walking Into Art". It was written by Minnesota composer, Nancy Grundahl, with text by former Speech teacher, coach and theater director at Eagan High School, Jodene Wartman. This piece was written in loving memory of Dennis Swanson, who was an inspirational teacher, director, mentor and friend. Denny touched the lives of thousands of students and inspired young performers to follow their acting dreams. He was also instrumental in starting the Eagan High School Summer Community Theater.
To celebrate this incredible man, we want to extend a special invitation to his family, colleagues, former students and friends. Please join us as we express our gratitude through music and song!

This year’s composer is John Helgen, editor for Kjos Music Publications and music director at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Roseville. The piece is titled “Crossing The Bar” with text by Alfred Lloyd Tennyson for piano, cello and men’s voices.
A variety of other choral music will be performed by the choirs, both individually and combined. Get your tickets for this wonderful evening of music before they sell out!
