Man Tried To Kill Teen Thinking He Was Ex-Wife's New Beau: Cops
The Prior Lake teen was headed home from Lakeville when a car hit him from behind.

SCOTT COUNTY, MN — Police believe jealousy played a role in a hit-and-run crash late last month that left a Prior Lake teen with a broken wrist and serious cuts to his arms and legs. Timothy Biby, 45, of Saint Paul is accused of trying to murder 18-year-old Grant Skluzacek in the south Twin Cities metro April 29.
Skluzacek was driving home from his friend's place in Lakeville on Scott County Road 21 near Hobby Hills Trail when he was struck from behind.
Scott County investigators said a piece of plastic from the scene linked Biby to the crash:

Days after the collision, Biby's ex-wife told a detective about a letter she received implicating him in the hit-and-run.
According to police, Biby sent a hand-written note stating the following:

I tried to kill your boyfriend. I was going to the casino and decided to drive by the condo. It’s the first time I’ve ever done that. I was hoping you would be outside with Jax. I saw a guy leave on a bike and I lost it…
Anyway, I hit him with my car. Turns out he was a high school kid. I hurt an innocent kid. I can’t live like this.
Hey, at least I finally quit smoking.
Biby was charged charged with first degree attempted murder and second degree assault with a deadly weapon.
