In response to the recent events in the Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Dakota County has issued a curfew that includes the City of Apple Valley and all of Dakota County. The intent of the curfew is to protect all of the citizens of our communities during this difficult time. The City has been in communication with members of the community that want to gather and peacefully express their pain and protest of the recent events. The City of Apple Valley wants to partner with its community to spread a message of support during this time. As a mayor, it is my job to look after the safety of my community members. Based on patterns of recent events and due to mutual aid commitments with our Dakota County cities, we have come to an agreement with community stakeholders to postpone. We look forward to working together to create a healing event soon.
