Missing Mendota Heights Man Found Dead After Extensive Search

HASTINGS, MN — The Dakota County Sheriff's Office located Michael William Robinson, 77, deceased downstream of his boat on Aug. 4, following extensive ground and water search efforts, according to a news release. "

This is not the outcome any of us had hoped for. Our hearts are with Michael's family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time," Sheriff Joe Leko said in the release. The Dakota County Sheriff's Office Dive Team, Drone Team and Special Operations Team assisted in the search, along with the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Northstar Search and Rescue.

Preliminary findings indicate the circumstances surrounding Robinson's death are not suspicious, according to the sheriff's office. The incident remains under investigation, and no additional information will be released at this time.
