The Rosemount football team traveled to Lakeville South on Friday evening to take on the Cougars.  The Irish were able to stay with the Cougars throughout much of the game and only trailed by three deep into the third quarter. But that was not in the cards for the Irish, as South's quarterback Mitchell Leidner led his offense down the field and scored the game's first touchdown on a one-yard quarterback sneak. South later added another touchdown to bolster their lead to 17-0. Rosemount's offense was never able to build any steam against the Cougar defense until late in the fourth quarter when the Irish decided to air the ball out, mainly to receiver Sean Kalinowski. The Irish were never able to get the ball into the endzone as the last seconds ticked off the clock in the fourth quarter. Rosemount (3-2) will next host Apple Valley (0-5) on Friday, Oct. 7.
