Pedestrian Struck On Apple Valley-Lakeville Border

A pedestrian was transported by helicopter Wednesday after she was struck on County Road 46, resulting in "very serious" injuries.

APPLE VALLEY, MN — Officers responded Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. to a serious injury crash on County Road 46 just west of the intersection with Cedar Avenue, in front of Carbone’s. A pedestrian was crossing County Road 46 from north to south. While crossing the eastbound lane (Lakeville side), the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, police told Patch in an email.

The victim was transported by helicopter to a trauma center. The pedestrian's injuries were "very serious," according to police.

The driver remained on scene and was cooperating with investigators. The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the scene to perform a reconstruction investigation.
