Seven Dakota Ridge seniors received certificates in a ceremony on Monday, as their high school years draw to a close.

Ten high school seniors who attend were recognized in front of family, friends and school staff Monday during a senior celebration ceremony. Seven of the students were present at the ceremony held in the gymnasium at Dakota Ridge, which is a K-12 school for students throughout the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan school district who have emotional and behavioral needs that prevent them from working well in a mainstream school.

A teacher introduced and spoke about each student individually, after which all received a certificate and shook hands with Dakota Ridge program coordinator Nandi Rieck and lead teachers Steve Eggleston and Dan Wilson. Teacher Jeremy Illg provided guitar music for the ceremony.

The seniors recognized were: Carlos Alvarez, Kevin Anderson, Cassandra Ersfeld, Steven Martinez (not present), Peyton Melsha, Ariel Pierce, Ashley Saari, Jonesha Sanders (not present), Malcolm Sandifer and Crissandra Solinger-Hillenbrand (not present).
