Rosemount Boys Basketball Drops Tough Game To Lakeville South

Despite four players scoring in double figures, the Rosemount boys basketball team couldn’t come up with an answer for Lakeville South’s Alex Richter in a 81-73 loss to the Cougars on Friday.

Richter scored a game-high 33 points in the contest, helping South bounce back from Tuesday’s loss to Apple Valley and keeping the Cougars (15-5, 10-2 SSC) in a tie with Eagan atop the South Suburban Conference standings.

Andrew Nelson led the Irish (6-14, 3-9) with 17 points on the night, while Matt Nelson added 14, Tyler Liermann had 13 and Charlie Broback had 10. 

Rosemount, which is 2-8 in its last 10 games, will try to rebound from two straight losses against Bloomington Kennedy on Tuesday. Gametime is set for 7:15 p.m. in Bloomington.
