Rosemount Dancers Join Teams From Across Minnesota at Henry Sibley Invitational

Teams from 22 different schools in Minnesota competed in both jazz and kick routines.

Dancers from across Minnesota converged on Henry Sibley High School in Mendota Heights Jan. 8 for their annual dance team invitational.

Teams from 22 different schools in Minnesota competed in both jazz and kick routines.

In high kick AAA varsity, Sibley placed first, Eagan placed second, Duluth Central placed third and Forest Lake placed fourth. In high kick AAA junior varsity, Sibley placed first, Eagan placed second and Northfield placed third.

In AAA varsity jazz competition, Sibley placed first, Eagan placed second, Rosemount placed third, and Forest Lake placed fourth. In AAA junior varsity jazz competition, Eagan placed first, Sibley placed second, Forest Lake placed third and Sibley B-team placed fourth. In AA varsity jazz, Simley High School in Inver Grove Heights placed first, ahead of Austin and Byron.

Invitational competitions do not affect standings for section or state competition, but provide an opportunity for teams to practice choreography and lineup changes. A section meet Feb. 12 at Bloomington-Kennedy High School is the next opportunity for conference team winners to advance toward the state competition.
