PHOTOS: Rosemount High School Hosts 22nd Annual Marching Band Festival
Rosemount High School Marching Band gives an exhibition performance and also announces being named Minnesota State Fair Grand Champions for the third straight year
The Rosemount High School Irish hosted 11 bands and a huge silent auction this past Saturday afternoon in the 22nd Annual Rosemount Marching Band Festival.
Eleven teams competed in three divisions in the event. Irondale finished first in the Class AAA division, followed by Eastview, Eden Prairie and Marshall. The Eastview drumline was named most outstanding in the competition.
Rosemount gave an exhibition performance entitled "Catch This!" which featured the music of Russian classical composers Mikhail Glinka and Dimitri Shostakovich. The marching band later competed in the Eastview marching band competition Saturday evening.

The bands were judged on music execution, general effect, marching and maneuvering execution visuals, percussion and color guard.
After the performance it was announced that Rosemount had been named the Minnesota State Fair Grand Champions. It was the band's third straight state fair title.
