ROSEMOUNT, MN — Rosemount police say a report of a burglary lead to arrests this week. On Thursday afternoon, the Rosemount Police Department responded to a report of a burglary in progress on the 14300 block of Cantata Avenue. The residents told police they returned home from running errands and were alarmed to find two suspects inside of their residence.

The suspects fled on foot to a vehicle parked approximately one block away and sped from the area, according to police. Authorities say the homeowner was able to provide a detailed description of the vehicle via "911" and this information was passed on to responding officers.

Officers reportedly observed a vehicle matching the description given by the victim and two suspects were taken into custody near Highway 52 and County Road 42. The suspects were transported to the Dakota County Jail where they were booked under charges of first degree burglary. There is no risk to public safety at this time, according to authorities.
