Seedings Announced for Section Football, Volleyball Tournaments

Seedings are set for high school football and volleyball section playoff action.

Here is a glance at the pairings, which appear on the Minnesota State High School League website:

SECTON 3AAA VOLLEYBALL
Eastview is the fourth seed and receives a first-round bye.

First-round matches planned for 7 p.m. Tuesday include ninth-seeded Apple Valley at number-eight Bloomington Kennedy, 12th-seeded Park at number-five Lakeville South, number-10 Holy Angels at seventh-seeded Simley and 11th-seeded Bloomington Jefferson at number-six Rosemount.

Eastview will host the Park-Lakeville South winner in one of the quarterfinal matches planned for Thursday.

SECTION 3AAAAA FOOTBALL
Apple Valley is the top seed and receives a first-round bye. The Eagles will host the winner of Tuesday’s quarterfinal game between fourth-seeded St. Louis Park and number-five Bloomington Kennedy in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Saturday.

In the other side of the bracket, number-two Farmington also receives a first-round bye and will play the winner of Tuesday’s quarterfinals between third-seeded Minneapolis Southwest and number-six Bloomington Jefferson. That semifinal also is scheduled for Saturday.

The semifinal winners will meet for the section championship on Nov. 2.

SECTION 3AAAAAA FOOTBALL
Eastview is the third seed and Rosemount is the fourth seed.

Quarterfinal games planned for 7 p.m. Friday include number-eight Park at top-seeded Prior Lake, fifth-seeded Lakeville South at Rosemount, seventh-seeded Eagan at number-two Lakeville North and sixth-seeded Burnsville at Eastview.

Semifinal games are scheduled for Nov. 2.
