ROSEMOUNT, MN — Apple Valley-Rosemount-Eagan schools will begin offering free childcare for students in District 196 if their parents are considered "Tier 1 critical workers." Child care will follow the district's hybrid model calendar.

Tier 1 workers include:

  • Healthcare and public health
  • Law enforcement, public safety and first responders
  • Food and agriculture
  • Judicial Branch
  • National Guard
  • Educators and school staff providing in-person instruction or caring for children of critical workers
  • Child care and school-age care providers
