U.S. Army Parachute Team to Deliver Game Ball to Eastview Soccer Match
The Golden Knights are scheduled to skydive into Eastview HIgh School's stadium Sept. 25.

It’s not every day that military parachutists deliver a game ball to a soccer match.
That’s what is planned before Eastview High School’s homecoming boys soccer match with North St. Paul on Sept. 25.

The U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute demonstration team will skydive into Eastview’s stadium at approximately 6:30 p.m., 30 minutes before game time. Accompanying the jumpers will be Eastview Principal Randall Peterson.
To mark the occasion, the school is planning a tribute to the community’s active and retired military personnel. All service members will be admitted to the game free of charge.

Here is the email that Matt Percival, assistant principal for curriculum and athletics, sent to Eastview staff and coaches on Tuesday to announced the event:
We have recently been made aware of a "once in a lifetime" opportunity for our Homecoming Week and are hopeful to provide an opportunity to honor all of those from the Eastview community who are active or veterans of any branch of the armed services. We were contacted by the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team and they have selected Eastview High School as a partner for one of their jumps next Tuesday night (Sept. 25) prior to the varsity boys soccer game vs. North St. Paul. As a part of this team parachute jump into the stadium with a game ball and flag from thousands of feet above our own principal, Dr. Randall Peterson, will also be jumping tandem with one of the soldiers! We are putting together a pre-game program to honor all military members (active and retired) between 6:25-6:45 p.m. The actual jump will take place between 6:20-6:30 with a short presentation afterwards. The boys soccer game against North St. Paul will start at 7 [p.m.].
We want to try to make this event as memorable and special as possible. We would like any of you who have either served yourself or have a family member who is or has served to be recognized on the field before the game. We would love to have you/them line the field as the jump takes place, teams are introduced etc. Then, if possible, we would love to have you stay and enjoy the game! I realize it may be short notice, but with this unique, once in a lifetime type of event, we are hoping to celebrate as many folks as possible. Please let me know of any veteran connections that might be able to attend. All military service personnel will be admitted to the game free of charge. If you are able to join us, please dress in red, white and blue! Thanks!
