What makes America?
What beliefs and core values did our country employ to have it sustain for so long?
The strongest beliefs that I possess are my belief in God, my belief in family and my belief in my country.
Through a belief in God, the founding fathers gathered words to write the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Those words provided the guidance in the growth and durability of not only this country, but the people who chose to live in this country.
Those words were inspired by the reasons the first settlers moved to this land. To establish a life of freedom, not only for themselves, but for their family and their families to follow. To establish a place that a family could grow and contribute to continuing the legacy those founding fathers so bravely brought about.

But there comes a time when those beliefs must be protected and defended. To continue to enjoy all the freedoms that were established, they must have citizens who will step up and take the stand and face the slings and arrows from those who would want to destroy this way of life. A citizen doesn’t only have to face the enemy of our freedoms in times of conflict, but they can stand up to face those that want to destroy from within. From within our minds, they want to implant seeds of doubt, that what we have been living with for over 238 years is no longer a viable path to follow. Those “soldiers” are just as important as those who go into combat. For it is that support that trickles down to the military, and makes what they are doing not only worthwhile, but worth the price at any cost.
So, for this great nation to continue to survive, we must not allow the destruction of the core values of God, Family and Country. God was the inspiration for establishing this nation and it should not be allowed to be erased from our country just because of a minority that is offended by its presence. God is the foundation of everything that inspired America’s creation. To eliminate God is to begin the eroding of that strongest of mortars that hold that very foundation together.

Families must be allowed to enjoy all the freedoms that were included in those great documents that provided the guidance to building and sustaining its survival. To erode or erase any single freedom is to slowly bleed away some of the blood that flows through every person who lives and breathes in this land, to those who enjoy and contribute to its continued success and to those who fight or stand up to the challenges of keeping those freedoms against those who would want to tear them down.
When those times come that threaten our freedoms and way of life, we must rely on the belief that God is within us, guiding and protecting those who will stand up to the verbal, physical and mental abuse against those who would try to put down our freedoms from within our minds and hearts as well as within our borders.
God, Family and Country IS the United States of America. And it shall stand so long as we never forget that God inspired its creation, that families protected its liberties which then provided the strength that has kept this country together and secured those freedoms we so love.
During a wedding ceremony, there used to be some words that the pastor would say after pronouncing the couple man and wife. I don’t know if those words are still used today, but they could also be applied here. “What God has brought together let no man put asunder”
