• Denny's Minnesota and Wisconsin Locations Have Now Closed (franknez.com) — Burnsville's Denny's at 12950 Aldrich Ave S has closed along with several other Minnesota and Wisconsin locations after the franchisee filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Employees were told the restaurants shut down September 3, and while Denny's hopes some sites might reopen under new ownership, there's no guarantee for staff or customers yet.
• MVTA sets ridership record for 2026 Minnesota State Fair (hometownsource.com) — Burnsville riders helped Minnesota Valley Transit Authority set a record 154,915 State Fair rides, with Burnsville Transit Station serving as a key boarding point. Now those extra buses are shifting to weekend service for the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, again departing from Burnsville Transit Station and two Shakopee park-and-ride lots through October 4.
• Waite Park Scrubs & Beyond Closing, All Five Minnesota Stores Shutting Down (knsiradio.com) — Scrubs & Beyond is shutting down all its Minnesota stores, including the Burnsville location that many local nurses and medical workers rely on for uniforms. The company hasn't shared a closing date yet, but stores elsewhere have already started liquidation sales, and it's unclear whether the online shop will remain available.
