• First responder statues will be installed at Nicollet Commons Park (hometownsource.com) — Burnsville is moving ahead with installing the long-delayed 'Homage' first responder statues at Nicollet Commons Park, committing about $84,700 for site and electrical work. The bronze figures, created by a Burnsville artist and commissioned by the Burnsville Community Foundation, will honor police, firefighters, and EMTs, with installation coordinated alongside park paver replacement next spring and formal acceptance next summer.
   

• Four Denny's franchises in Minnesota close, but chain talks comeback (sctimes.com) — Burnsville's Denny's on Aldrich Avenue has closed after its franchisee signaled bankruptcy, but the company says it's working with new owners to potentially reopen shuttered locations. While Denny's trims underperforming restaurants nationwide, new private owners are investing in remodels, menu upgrades, and possible future growth that could eventually bring the Burnsville site back.
