Today's riddle: Who's in favor of bringing back Roman Numerals? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Burnsville arts commission will debut (hometownsource.com) — Burnsville is launching a new seven-member city arts commission, and residents can apply through Nov. 6 to help shape how local arts are promoted and supported. The commission will advise the City Council, build networks among artists and businesses, and create a central online hub for events, grants, and creative resources, with its first meeting planned for January.
2. Man Charged With First-Degree Burglary After Burnsville Police Search (limitless-news.com) — Burnsville police arrested a 33-year-old man who prosecutors say fled a crash and then entered an occupied home near Keating and Galtier, prompting a large neighborhood search Tuesday morning. A woman and her children were inside but were not reported injured, and the suspect now faces a first-degree burglary charge in Dakota County District Court.
3. Volleyball roundup: Minnewaska wins showdown with Sauk Centre Mainstreeters (wctrib.com) — Minnewaska's undefeated volleyball squad is heading to Burnsville this weekend for the Class AA Showcase at the Midwest Volleyball Warehouse, with matches Friday evening and Saturday morning. The roundup also highlights recent results and upcoming matches for several other central Minnesota high school teams, but the only games in Burnsville are Minnewaska's showcase contests.
4. Dakota County approves 18.5% increase for 2027 levy (hometownsource.com) — Dakota County has approved an 18.5% maximum levy increase for 2027, which will raise county property taxes and help rebuild depleted reserves. For Burnsville homeowners, county officials project residential values rising about 2.69%, a factor that will influence how much more you pay when the final budget and levy are adopted in December.
