• Burnsville Establishing New Arts Advisory Commission to Expand Arts and Culture Opportunities (limitless-news.com) — Burnsville is creating a new Arts Advisory Commission to guide how the city supports and expands arts and culture, with the council set to approve it on October 6. Starting in January 2027, resident commissioners will meet monthly to recommend ways to strengthen Burnsville's identity, bring people together, and increase opportunities to experience and participate in local arts.
   

• District 191 takes bold swipe at school violence (hometownsource.com) — District 191, which serves Burnsville, is rolling out a "Violence Free Schools" campaign aiming to cut fights by 70% this year after a turning-point incident at Burnsville High School. With stricter hallway supervision, tougher responses to provoking behavior, and clear consequences for fights, leaders say they want safer schools while still protecting the rights of students with disabilities.
