Jill Sauber, a third-year law student in the Advanced Elder Law Practice Group at the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, will come address some of these questions and speak on the differences in third-party payers/fiduciaries. These fiduciaries include:
- Attorney-in-fact (someone with the power of attorney)
- Guardian
- Conservator
- Health Care Agent
- Social Security Representative Payee
- Medical Assistance Authorized Representative
Jill is working on a project with law professors and attorneys in the Elder Law Practice Group to increase caregiver awareness of the important differences between these different roles and positions.
