Chu Vision Institute was founded by Dr. Y. Ralph Chu in 1999. As a solo practitioner, Dr. Chu designed Chu Vision Institute to meet the expanding demand for specialized boutique services offering the latest technology and patient-specific treatments for a wide range of vision needs.

For more than a decade now, Jacobs has worked alongside Dr. Chu, international physician instructor on cataract and intraocular lens implantations, phakic lens implantations, laser vision correction technologies and ocular therapeutic treatments. Jacobs has become a key innovator at Chu Vision having managed several critical elements of the private practice ranging from marketing and management to implementing electronic health records and even opening Chu Surgery Center, an accredited ophthalmic ambulatory surgery center.

As Executive Vice President of Operations, Jacobs will manage a team of 25 employees and managers while also leading efforts in marketing, research and health record management.
In 2011, Jacobs became a Certified Ophthalmic Executive (COE). The COE distinguishes the ophthalmic administrator has demonstrated a stellar level of knowledge and technical competence in the field of practice administration. That includes work experience, coursework and COE examination requirements.
Carrie lives in Burnsville, Minnesota with her husband and three children. She is planning to run her first marathon next year.
