David A. Witzke, 73, of Burnsville. Survived by loving wife and best friend of 50 years, Ingrid; children, Kate of NYC, Elizabeth of Durham, NC and Jonathan (Sari) of Edina, MN; grandsons, Brett, Alex and Nick; sister, Betty Protheroe of Appleton, WI; many nieces and nephews; and Lily. David's career in IT Honeywell allowed him to work and live in Europe, Atlanta, Boston and the Twin Cities. In his semi-retirement, he became a real estate appraiser. His passions were his three grandsons, the Green Bay Packers and fly fishing, but his family and friends brought him profound joy and contentment. He was warm, wise, and undeniably witty, and he will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by parents, August and Margaret Witzke; brother, James; sisters, Nancy Peotter and Janet Holtz. Memorial Service is at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, West 50th St. and Vernon Ave at Highway 100, Edina. Those who wish may make donations to Trout Unlimited or the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.
