Lawrence “Larry” E. Beckwith, 68

Lawrence “Larry” E. Beckwith, 68, of Burnsville, passed away May 22, 2012. Larry was born and raised in Presho, SD. Graduated from Presho High School in 1961. During school, he worked at the family hardware store. Going on numerous furnace, water heater, and appliance repair calls with his dad probably sparked his interest in mechanical engineering. He was very active in speech and music. He played the organ for Presho Methodist Church for years. In college he was very active in Young Republicans. After graduating from the SD School of Mines with a degree in mechanical engineering, he worked for Dunham’s and Assoc. throughout his entire career. Starting in Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Reno, NV, and Minneapolis until retiring in 2001. Larry serviced his country in the US Army for four years during Vietnam. Survived by wife, Tuyet; sisters, Pamela (Roger) Beinlich and Brenda Martinez and one niece, Kim (Donnie) Strickland and two nephews, Eric (Sandra) Beinlich and C.J. Shaffer. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles & Junebelle Beckwith. Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Saturday May 26, at Church of St. Anne-St. Joseph Hien, 2627 Queen Ave. N. Minneapolis. Visitation Friday May 25, at , 12804 Nicollet Ave S. Burnsville, and also one hour prior to Mass at Church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
