Russell Johnson, 80

Johnson, Russell "Russ" Kenneth "King," 80. Born 9/29/31 of Burnsville, passed away peacefully and with no pain at his beloved VA on 5/12/12 after his brave and heroic battle with prostate cancer. Preceded in death by his parents Edwin & Mary; brothers Robert & Stuart; brother-in-law Robert; nephews Todd & Joseph; cousin Tommy; 1st wife Harriet; and many other relatives & friends. Survived by his loving daughter Tina Nelson-Johnson (Garry); 4 granddaughters; 12 grandchildren; 16 nieces & nephews; 31 great & 4 great-great nieces & nephews, brother George (Pat); sisters Marilyn Ryan-Johnson & Pamela Johnson; and many other relatives & friends. Russ was a corporal in the 4th Armed Calvary in Germany during the Korean War and was the proud owner of 3 Russ' Pubs in Mpls & Burnsville, MN. Awesome dad, grampa, brother, uncle & friend, you will be missed everyday for the rest of our lives. Remember, "take no prisoners". You were and always will be our hero. Thanks to all the staff & caregivers at the VA & Dr. Hanson, Intrepid nursing and Diane, Jean and Shelly for allowing my dad to die in peace, with no pain and with dignity. We will forever be grateful. Memorial service/luncheon June 23rd, 2012 from 1-5 PM at the Eagles Club, 9152 Old Cedar Ave, Bloomington, MN 55425, 952-854-3044. Interment with close family & friends a year or more from now at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
