Blaze Boys Lacrosse Wins First Game Of Season
Burnsville rallies from early deficit to claim a 12-8 victory against visiting Holy Angels on a wet and frigid Thursday night.
Undaunted by giving up a goal just 48 seconds into the game, the Burnsville boys lacrosse team rallied to claim its first victory of the season, 12-8, against visiting Holy Angels in a non-conference game on a wet and frigid evening off of Highway 13.
The Stars claimed the early 1-0 lead and dominated much of the first four minutes of play, but the game turned after a breakaway goal by Bohdi Engum at the 7:42 mark of the first quarter was promptly followed by another Blaze score from Donovan Herby at 9:40 to give the hosts a 2-1 lead they would not relinquish.
As a driving wind that howled north across the field blew in a driving rain, Burnsville upped its lead with two more goals in the second half from Jake Maxson and Jace Childs and took a 4-1 advantage into halftime.

With a constant drizzle still falling from the sky, a relatively low-scoring affair exploded with a combined 11 goals between the teams with Neal Pester scoring twice and Dylan Delaney, Tanner Fricke, Engum and Atkinson each adding one more goal apiece before the clock hit zero.
