Blaze Lineman Chase Roullier Draws Recruiting Looks
Chase Roullier, a senior offensive lineman from Burnsville, is attracting interest from several Midwest colleges.

Chase Roullier, a 6-4, 255-pound senior offensive lineman from Burnsville, is not just a two-sport athlete. He's an outstanding student as well. Colleges and universities have taken notice: Roullier has already picked up five football scholarships offers and is hoping to pick more interest with a strong senior campaign.
Patch.com recently caught up with Roullier to learn the latest on his recruitment.
Roullier has helped pace the Blaze to a 1-4 start. The record is a bit misleading since they lost to Bloomington Jefferson by two points and Prior Lake and then-No. 6 ranked Lakeville North by three.
In his junior year, Roullier helped lead the Blaze to a 4-6 mark, losing to Class AAAAA runner-up Rosemount 42-14 in the Section 3 semifinals.
Roullier also plays basketball for Burnsville, which finished 12-14 last season, losing to Apple Valley 72-49 in the first round of the Section 3AAAA playoffs. He will serve as a captain this season.
Burnsville Patch: What is the latest on your recruitment?
Roullier: I still have the five offers. I haven’t gotten anything new. I know that (Minnesota Offensive Coordinator Matt Limegrover) was at the Prior Lake game. I haven’t heard anything back from that yet, but I am looking to hear something this week probably and hear what he had to think about that and go from there.
Burnsville Patch: Have you had a chance to send out your highlight reels or highlights to schools yet?
Roullier: I haven’t yet of my senior year. I need to put that together still.
Burnsville Patch: Have you had a chance to go to any college games yet this year?
Roullier: No. I was going to go to the North Dakota State-Minnesota game, but it was our homecoming.
Burnsville Patch: Any plans to go to anything the next couple of weeks?
Roullier: I’ll go to the next home Gopher game, most likely. I still need to get up to Western Michigan, Akron and Toledo
Burnsville Patch: What offers do you have right now?
Roullier: Akron, Toledo, Western Michigan, North Dakota State and Northern Iowa.
Burnsville Patch: What other schools are you hearing from besides those schools?
Roullier: Wyoming is in the mix a little bit. Minnesota. Other than that, not much else.
Burnsville Patch: What are you hearing from the Gophers?
Roullier: I haven’t talked to the Gopher in awhile, other than by Facebook. They said that they are waiting to see what happens the rest of the senior year and we’ll see.
Burnsville Patch: How about your own individual play so far this season?
Roullier: I think that I have played pretty well. I have been moving around from between guard and tackle, which can be difficult at times, doing a lot of pulling and more of a tackle-type line blocking, but I feel that I am doing pretty well. I am getting a lot of defensive reps, too.
Burnsville Patch: Do you like that?
Roullier: It is fun. I have gotten a couple of sacks and tackles for loss.
Burnsville Patch: You have a new head coach this season. Has that been much of an adjustment for you?
Roullier: Not really. In terms of schemes, it is a new offense. I think that everyone has gotten the hang of it now. Defensively, it is not a lot different, but it is still a little different, but I think that everyone has figured it out by now.
Burnsville Patch: Are you planning on visiting those schools that have offered you? Will you go after your season is over?
Roullier: I might try to make a game there, but if not, I will make visits there, whether it is official or unofficial.
Burnsville Patch: What are your winter sports plans?
Roullier: I’ll be playing basketball again. I am a captain for that, so I am going to stick with that.
Burnsville Patch: What things have you really been focusing on to improve yourself as a player?
Roullier: One thing is staying conditioned. It helps playing both ways, not really getting much of a break, so I am getting pretty conditioned with that. My strength, too. We have been lifting every day during practice. If not getting stronger, I am staying strong, which I don’t think necessarily happened last year. Just keep up with my technique, both run and pass blocking.
Burnsville Patch: Are most of the colleges looking at you playing the same position?
Roullier: A lot of them are thinking guard, but I know that NDSU is still thinking tackle is a possibility, but most of the others are thinking guard.
