Go 'Native' on Saturday at the Annual Tree Sale
The City of Burnsville is hosting its annual tree this weekend.
Just a reminder to all Burnsville residents who are considering a landscape project. This Saturday, April 28, the city is holding their annual Native Plant, Tree & Shrub sale right by city hall off Nicollet Avenue.
As a past customer, I can heartily recommend attending the sale. You will find all kinds of trees, plants and shrubs that do well in our area. The prices are reasonable. This is a great way to enhance your landscape without breaking the bank.
Couple of hints (from past experience). Go to the city website and see what will be offered. At the sale there are usually a few charts showing different varieties and some staff on hand to answer questions, but I suggest you go prepared! It is very busy and lots of things sell out early. Also, be ready to tote and haul your purchases. You may want to take some sort of container, box, etc. for your plants. Get there early. Best selection is available for early birds! Last year, trees were on one side of the facility and plants/shrubs on the other. Don't waste time in the tree line if you only want plants and shrubs and vice versa. You must be a Burnsville resident, so take your ID. There are limits on number of items you can purchase, details on the website. If you are going with a tree, call the "Call B4 You Dig" number, so you they can mark your property for gas lines, cable etc. Have fun and enjoy planting a Minnesota native.
