Burnsville Rep: Republicans Budgeting 'The Minnesota Way'

"Minnesota families created the budget surplus we now enjoy and it's time to put that money back in their pockets."

Minnesota House Republicans announced their budget targets Monday, headlined by $1.35 billion in tax cuts and $450 million in funding for road and bridge infrastructure.

House Republicans stated their goal to approach budgeting “The Minnesota Way.”

“Getting tax relief for hardworking Minnesotans was one of my top priorities and this budget proposal delivers $1.35 billion in tax relief,” said Burnsville's Republican Rep. Drew Christensen.

Christensen's office said the overall House Republican budget target limits government spending more than the two proposals put forward by the Governor and the Senate.

The budget resolution, containing the targets, will be adopted this week by the House Ways and Means Committee and will serve as the framework for Finance Committees as they construct their budgets, according to a news release.
