Burnsville Sends Boys Team To State Cross Country Meet
The Blaze boys team, plus girls sophomore Vivian Hett, will represent Burnsville at state

The Burnsville boys and girls cross country teams competed Wednesday in the Section 3AA championships at the University of Minnesota’s Les Bolstad Golf Course, and the Blaze boys team earned a trip to the state meet.
Burnsville’s boys took second in the section with a team score of 66 points, trailing only Rosemount with 58 points. Both will be competing at the Class AA tournament at St. Olaf College in Northfield on Nov. 5.
Senior Abdullahi Salan had the team’s best finish, placing second overall with a time of 15:50.0.

On the girls side, the Blaze finished seventh overall with 206 points. Eagan (44 points) and Prior Lake (69 points) each advanced to state by placing in the section’s top two spots.
However, the Blaze will send one runner to the state girls meet. Sophomore Vivian Hett finished in 14:40.0 at the meet, second only to Eagan’s Danielle Anderson’s 14:26.0 finish.
