Burnsville Shopping Center to Close on Thanksgiving

The Burnsville Center joins the Mall of America and other malls across the country in deciding to close its doors on Thanksgiving.

The corporate owner of the Burnsville Center announced Thursday that the mall will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and open at 6:00 am on Black Friday, Nov. 25. The Burnsville Center joins the Bloomington's Mall of America and several other malls and stores across the country in deciding to close on the national holiday.

“We want to bring back the excitement of Black Friday shopping as the true start of the holiday shopping season and allow our employees, retailers, and shoppers to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with their families,” said Stephen Lebovitz in a statement. Lebovitz is the President and CEO of CBL & Associates Properties, Inc., which owns the Burnsville Center.

“After evaluating feedback from our mall employees, retail partners, and input from our shoppers we determined that this was the best decision for our properties.”

So enjoy that extra plate of pie at dinner, take a long afternoon nap, set your alarm and wake up with us to bring back the magic of Black Friday."

Department stores, movie theaters, and retailers with exterior mall entrances will have the option to open their stores on Thursday. However, access to mall common areas will be restricted until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, according to a news release.
