Burnsville Student Wins Free Graduation Party

Perhaps the only thing students anticipate as much as graduation is their graduation party.

Burnsville Senior High School grad John Kuziej had extra reason to look forward to his party. Twin Cities Live TV selected him as the winner of the station’s free graduation party.

Kuziej’s aunt Nancy Walquist nominated him for the award, according to a Burnsville Senior High School release. As a result of his premature birth, Kuziej has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. But Walquist said he does not let his disability define him. He was on student council and a trainer on the football team.

He plans to major in broadcast journalism at Winona State University.
