Chemical Leak At Pool In Burnsville: Apartment Complex Evacuated
The Dakota County Special Operations HazMat Team is assisting the Burnsville Fire Department in the response.

BURNSVILLE, MN — Authorities are investigating after a pool chemical leak occured at an apartment complex in Burnsville. At approximately 9 a.m. on Friday, the Burnsville Fire Department responded to a call about a pool chemical leak at the Carrington Court Apartments at 700 Evergreen Drive.
Initial arriving crews discovered the chemicals were actively leaking causing health concerns for residents and firefighters, police said. Two victims with minor injuries were transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Residents of two buildings at the complex – 720 and 760 Evergreen Drive – have been evacuated while firefighters address the situation.

Crews will continue to be on scene for "an undetermined amount of time," police said in a news release.
Residents of those buildings are asked to monitor Burnsville social media for updates regarding re-entry of the buildings. Residents of other buildings can utilize on-street parking and walk to the unaffected homes and apartment buildings.

Traffic remains diverted on Evergreen Drive between Park Avenue South and Portland Avenue.
