City Announces May 13 Deadline To Register For Community Garage Sale

The city's fourth annual "I Love Burnsville Week" is not scheduled to kick off until June 3 but if you're planning to participate in the city-wide garage sale, there is no time to waste.

Registration for the increasingly popular event ends May 13. 

The community garage sale is scheduled to take place June 3-4 and homeowners can choose to participate in one or both days. A statement from the City of Burnsville confirmed that the sale will proceed rain or shine.

The city is also preparing a map of participating homes for those interested in making a full day of the annual sale. Maps are tentatively scheduled to be available at City Hall, Burnsville Ice Center, Birnamwood Golf Course, Maintenance Center, Burnhaven Library and online.

According to the statement, once participants fill out the requisite forms, they will receive a registration number and coordinating sign to place in their yard to identify their garage sale as a participant.

There is a $20 fee to participate. Burnsville will accept credit card payments online.   

Popular teen hangout, The Garage, is also planning to host a teen-themed garage sale during the city-wide event. For $10 ($5 for members) local teenagers can rent a table to sell or exchange their stuff.

The teen garage sale will run from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m on June 3 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 4.  

I Love Burnsville Week will feature everything from an ice cream social at the and a mountain bike race at to a Best Pizza in Burnsville contest, a and a family music and book festival.
